Suite Life at Rocco Forte's Brown's Hotel for the true connoisseur of luxury style
Following a £24-million renovation that was completed in December 2005, the legendary Brown’s Hotel now boasts 117 luxurious rooms and suites. Each of the rooms and suites has been individually designed by Rocco Forte Hotels’ Director of Design Olga Polizzi in a contemporary and comfortable style, whilst maintaining the refined English charm for which Brown’s is famous.
The 19 magnificent suites, of which there are two Royal and two Presidential Suites, offer the ultimate in luxury. Each suite has been elegantly decorated, whilst encompassing state-of-the-art technology.
From the moment of arrival, guests are treated like royalty with Brown’s offering in-room check-in, which allows them to be escorted directly to their suites. A full packing and un-packing service and a complimentary pressing of two garments is also offered. Before arrival, suite guests are given a choice of not only what type of pillow they would like from the Pillow Menu, but also whether they would like 300 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets or 100% Irish linen bedding.
The soft colour scheme, with light fabrics, including linens, silks and angora throws, blends perfectly with the specially selected antiques and important pieces of artwork within the rooms. Large windows boasting wonderful views over either Dover Street or Albemarle Street ensure that these suites are filled with an abundance of natural light. Each suite has its own private dining area, providing the perfect setting for small dinner parties or business meetings. Special attention has been given to the small details that make a difference; these include a large selection of books within each room, from Rudyard Kipling’s Jungle Book, which he wrote whilst staying in the hotel, to The Wicked Wit of Winston Churchill as he was a regular visitor to the property.
No two suites are alike and both the Royal Suites - The Kipling and Hellenic - have been designed to incorporate some of the amazing history the hotel has to offer.
The suite bathrooms, which have bush-hammered limestone walls and mosaic-tiled floors, offer large walk-in showers with ‘Rain Forest’ shower heads, and baths that come complete with their own personal TV tile at the foot of the bath and waterproof controls. Suite guests can luxuriate in Rocco Forte’s own 100% pure and natural bathroom products.
Guests of suites are able to make use of complimentary local telephone calls and guests of Royal and Presidential Suites can also enjoy complimentary high-speed internet access and in-house films throughout their stay. Large flat-screen LCD televisions, DVD players, along with a large selection of DVDs, and Bose i-pod docking stations are available for all suite guests to enjoy.
Each night, the hotel will send suite guests a present, which changes daily and could include aromatic oils or a scented candle. Royal and Presidential Suite guests also receive complimentary soft drinks from the mini-bar and early morning coffee or tea with their wake-up calls
Nothing is too much trouble for this outstanding hotel and each member of staff will do whatever they can to ensure that time spent in Rocco Forte’s Brown’s Hotel is more than memorable. One statement that truly represents Brown’s came from a very notable individual who was once asked in which hotel he stayed in London. His response? ‘I don’t stay in a hotel, I stay at Brown’s.’
Suite prices start at £980 + VAT per night for a Classic Suite, subject to availability.
